Daily Harringtons Happy Hour & Half Price Tapas

Every day is a happy day at Harry’s!

The Harringtons Cocktail Lounge happy hour drink deals and half-price tapas special happens every day (Wednesday – Saturday).

Happy Hour (16:00 – 18:00) includes:

  • 2-for-1 deals on classic cocktails and select beers, spirits, and house wines.

Half-price tapas (16:00 – 18:00) include:

  • 50% off all tapas on the menu.

I Love Foodies recommendation: Come at around 17:00 and order ahead for an early dinner. Two cocktails are plenty, and 2-3 tapas is more than enough (3-5 if you’re starving).

You can always grab another drink or dessert later in the evening.

Wednesday Wine Tasting & Dinner

These are probably the best evenings at Harringtons.

Each month, they collaborate with a different wine estate.

You’ll get to enjoy a delicious dinner paired with one of the wines PLUS a full wine tasting.

A representative from the estate will be there to answer all your questions about the wine.

I usually end up in lengthy discussions with the wine estate host and walk away smarter than I was before, which, in my book, makes for a great evening.

You’ll definitely enjoy your Wednesday Wine Tasting & Dinner evenings.

R190 per person gets you:

  • Aperitivo glass of wine on arrival
  • One main meal
  • A glass of wine of your choice from the hosting estate with the main meal
  • Petit four dessert platter
  • Complimentary wine tasting

If you’re not interested in the meal deal, you can also join in for the wine tasting only at R60 per person.

You can also select the three-course meal option for R220!

The wine partner for June 2021 is Anthonij Rupert and wines/bubbly on offer include the L’ormarins Brut Classique NV, Protea Chenin Blanc, Terra del Capo Pinot Grigio, Terra del Capo Sangiovese, and the Terra del Capo Arne 2018.

The Anthonij Rupert Optima will be available for tasting but will not be included in the wine dinner menu set price.

Saturday Brunch

Setting the standard as one of the best cocktail bars in Cape Town continues at Harry’s every Saturday with a bottomless brunch & cocktail pairing.

The bottomless brunch takes place every Saturday from 10:30 – 14:30.

Harringtons Cocktail Lounge Menu & Prices

Harringtons may have the appeal of an upmarket venue, but they keep their prices pretty reasonable.

With cocktails and tapas averaging around R60 and a hoard of hard-to-beat deals, Harringtons offers some of the best dining value in Cape Town.

Harringtons Cocktail Lounge Food Menu

The food at Harringtons Cape Town is far from average, with Chef Jessica Dean taking the helm in recent months.

Some I Love Foodies favourites include:

  • Mushroom Arancini (R55): Served with a whipped feta dip.
  • Tempura Fish Tacos (R75): With pickled cabbage and grilled corn & pineapple salsa.
  • Pan-Fried Gnocchi (R115): With mushrooms, chermoula, sage, seasonal vegetables, and feta, drizzles with truffle oil.
  • Flame-Grilled Rib-Eye (R175): Served with truffle mash, sauteed vegetables, mushrooms, and blistered cherry tomatoes.

Of these, I’d probably say the flame-grilled rib-eye is my favourite. It’s certainly not your typical steak-on-a-plate dish, but it will excite your tastebuds one bite at a time.

Something else that caught my eye is the Korean Chicken Burger (R80/R100), with tapioca-crusted chicken thigh, gochujang mayo, apple-sesame slaw, and rocket.

This sounds insanely delicious & I’ll have to go back to try it!

There is a limited menu available during Covid times, but this cocktail bar and restaurant will undoubtedly expand back to their full menu in due course.

Harringtons Cocktail Lounge Drinks Menu

Harringtons has always been one of the best cocktail bars in Cape Town.

Hey, it’s in the name 😉

Of course, their entire drinks menu is spectacular, and they offer a wide selection of classic and house cocktails, beers, ciders, wines, champagne, and hard spirits.

They also offer something in every price range.

You can spend a few thousand Rand on a bottle of Dom Perignon if that’s your vibe. But you can also spend under R100 for one of the best Margaritas in town.

Options matter.

Top Reasons To Love Harringtons Cocktail Lounge

If you’ve never been to Harringtons Cape Town, you may not know what makes this venue so special.

Of course, we’ve already covered the fantastic food & cocktail specials, but there are very few places in Cape Town that offer the same venue appeal as Harringtons does.

I’ve always described Harringtons as Gatsbian.

When I first walked in for their launch party back in 2017, I was immediately struck by the golden bar, the plush booths, the ambience that speaks of a time long gone.

Then, I referred to it as harking back to the Roaring 20s, the Gatsbian era of F. Scott Fitzgerald, and I still stick to my initial interpretation.

The venue leaves you feeling chic and cosy. This is a place where good times and old-school glamour meet.

The service has also always been astounding, and there’s always been great food, great drinks, and good happy-dance music.

Harringtons Covid-19 Update

Some temporary Covid-19 changes:

  • New opening times: Wednesday – Friday (16:00 – late), Saturday (10:30 – late).
  • Covid sign-in, temperature check, and masks required.
