With the sweet smell of spring in South Africa, there’s nothing better than the perfect cocktail to share with friends & family. Why not try this Angostura Cranberry Gin Cocktail recipe?!
Before we get to the recipe, let’s take a quick look at Angostura.
Introducing Angostura Bitters
You’re undoubtedly familiar with Angostura Bitters.
This concentrated recipe of gentian, herbs, and spices made by the House of Angostura in Trinidad and Tobago is very at home in most bars.
It’s used frequently in cocktails, mocktails, and even food.
Invented by Johann Gottlieb Benjamin Siegert, a German surgeon general in the Prussian army who became fascinated by the herbs and plants in Angostura (a town in Venezuela now called Ciudad Bolívar), Angostura bitters have been in existence since 1824.
The recipe is a well-guarded secret and, to this day, the House of Angostura is the only company to make the bitters.
