A little while ago I had a rather interesting review experience. Interesting because it wasn’t meant for me directly but, instead, for my furry sidekick, Evey. I borrowed this gorgeous Boston Terrier from my good friend Kassandra and took her to a luxury tasting experience at Vondi’s, also known as holistic pet nutrition heaven!

Meet Evey

Most people with furry friends will probably have already heard of Vondi’s and visited their Sea Point store, where the nutrition magic happens. This is their factory hub where all of their dog (and cat) food is created – not in some secret lab, but in an open platform where visitors can view the whole food-making process. No secrets, no lies, and, most importantly, no harmful preservatives, colourants, or flavourants.

This dog food is the good stuff. Their frozen food packages consist of meat (heart, liver, kidneys, etc.) and veggies, and are technically fit for human consumption, though you’d probably want to add some spices. Their biscuits, formulated by celebrity chef Jenny Morris, are also packed with the good stuff, and their non-treatment biscuits (i.e. those not for itchy skin, deworming, etc.) are also fit for human consumption. I even tried some – tastes much like a morning breakfast biscuit minus all the sugar!

But the real test came when Evey got to try all the Vondi’s food. She was a spoilt little puppy on the day, having the choice of all the best meals. Luckily Evey is extremely well-trained, so Kassandra kept a good eye on her to see that she doesn’t go berserk with all the food. Her good training also made for some brilliant photo opportunities (Kassandra is also the mastermind behind Kass Photography), and I think I’ll largely let the pictures do the talking when it comes to Evey’s foodie adventure.

Life is tough as a lucky puppy … so many choices!

Kassandra confirmed that Evey was the happiest dog in the world on that day. And Evey definitely looked like the happiest dog in the world! If you want to make your furry friend the happiest one too, you can check out the Vondi’s store at 59 Regent Road in Sea Point. Also visit them online for more information. Everyone deserves good food, our furry sidekicks included!
