This Biftekia Patty Recipe forms the perfect base for any Greek-style burgers.
The recipes makes two patties / biftekia.
Ingredients
- 50 g fresh tomato
- 12 g fresh parsley
- 300g beef mince
- 300 g button mushrooms
- 1 slice stale white breat
- 1/2 large onion
- 3 ml dry oregano
- 1 ml ground cinnamon
- 1 ml ground cumin
- 12 ml olive oil
- 1 ml baking powder
- 1 ml salt
How To Make Biftekia
- Drench the slice of bread in water and put aside.
- Grate the tomato, finely chop the parsley, and put aside.
- Roughly chop the mushrooms and flash fry, then put aside.
- Fry onions in olive oil until soft and then put aside.
- Add the cooked mushrooms, onion, bread, spices, herbs, baking powder, chopped tomato and parsley to the raw mince. Add seasoning to taste.
- Mix by hand, ensuring ingredients are well distributed
- Form the burger patty and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Grill or fry patty.
- To serve: Place patties between two toasted sesame seed buns, add 2 tablespoons of tzatziki over the patties, and serve with a side salad or fries.
