If you’re heading out to enjoy the fun and games at GrandWest Casino in Cape Town, then you’re undoubtedly gonna feel the need for a nibble at some point. So what about the restaurants at GrandWest?

Luckily, this entertainment centre offers a whole selection of options, from family-friendly to take-away to a great range of sit-down restaurants.

A Quick Note On Covid-19

Numerous of the bars and buffet-style restaurants have closed temporarily due to Covid-19. We’ve added notes below as to which ones are open.

Something Italian

No entertainment centre would be complete without a bite of something Italian, and, at GrandWest, this is fulfilled by Casa Bella.

First established in 2016 as an upmarket restaurant brand, Casa Bella – literally meaning ‘beautiful home’ – aims to bring you the best of Italian food at decent prices.

Offering a menu that includes delicious starters, sharing platters, wood-fired pizzas, pasta, salads, seafood, and grill options, you’re definitely spoilt for choice.

For The Lovers Of Fish

The Cape Town Fish Market needs no introduction.

The menu is famous for its fresh range of seafood dishes. It’s a vibrant restaurant, chic yet still informal.

And it has everything your heart could desire – think a sensational sushi selection, as well as a delicious choice of poultry, meat, and vegetarian dishes.

Of course, the real winner is the seafood. Firm favourites include fish & chips, prawn and avocado salad, fresh oysters, and salmon teriyaki.

Seafood platters are also always a good choice, and they include options like prawns, crayfish, hake, fishcakes, mussels, and calamari.

A South African Classic

You may have guessed what this is: Spur, the true South African family restaurant.

At GandWest, you’ll get to dine at the Silver Dollar Spur.

Enjoy Spur favourites like their famous Spur ribs, chicken wings, Cheddamelt schnitzel, or one of their many steak cuts.

The Finest Indian Food

If you’re craving something a little more flavourful, then look no further than Bukhara.

First established in 1995, Bukhara is one of the most-loved Indian restaurant destinations in Cape Town.

They specialise in various north-Indian cooking, and you’ll get to enjoy charcoal tandoor meats, aromatic curries, and so much more.

Meat Lovers’ Delight

Another wonderful restaurant that’s worth visiting is Hussar Grill.

This restaurant first opened its legendary brass doors back in 1964 and is known as one of South Africa’s premier grill rooms, with a loyal following that has only grown over the years.

Known for their speciality steaks and fine wine selection, Hussar Grill also boasts excellent service and a warm ambience.

Of course, it’s not only their legendary beef cuts that make them famous. They also serve wonderful game cuts, poultry, seafood, and salads, in addition to a whole host of tasty desserts and coffees.

The Ultimate Buffet

A good buffet is always worth having, and there’s no better option than the Quarterdeck Restaurant.

Their sit-down buffet is made up of a selection of hot and cold foods, including stir-fries, roasts, and desserts.

The restaurant offers two different “sittings”, an early sitting from 17:00 to 18:00 at R245 per person, and the main sitting from 18:00 to 22:00 at R280 per person. There’s also a Sunday lunch sitting from 12:30 to 15:00 at R280 per person.

Covid-19 Note: The Quarterdeck Restaurant is temporarily closed due to Covid-19.

Cape Village Fast Food Court

You don’t necessarily have to sit down for a delicious meal.

GrandWest boasts one of the coolest food courts in Cape Town, set around a kiddie’s ice rink and transporting you to a mythical fantasy land.

Enjoy classic fast food options like Nando’s, Burger King, Debonairs, KFC, Steers, Subz, Wimpy, and Ying Tao Asia Express.

Or choose speciality coffee and dessert options like Candylicious, Doughnut Hive, Marcel’s, Milky Lane, and Vida E Caffe.

Sports Bars, Night Venues, and VIP Clubs

Of course, there are also numerous other establishments at GrandWest that offer bar snacks, drinks, and more, including the Alibama Sports Bar, Golden Anchor, Hanover Street, and Jackson Hall.

If you’re a Platinum cardholder or a guest at the Grand Hotel, you can also dine at the luxurious Union Castle Club.

Covid-19 Note: The Union Castle Club is open but the other bars and venues are temporarily closed.

A Changing World With Covid-19

Even though GrandWest boasts all of these amazing restaurants, you won’t be able to visit all of them at the moment.

2020 has really been a year unlike any other, with Covid-19 creating havoc throughout the world, changing the way we live, work, and source our entertainment.

If you’re social distancing, you can still enjoy your entertainment through online casino sites like FruityKing.co.uk, which can bring some of that casino action right into the comfort of your own home.

And for food?

Don’t despair. There are dozens of at-home delivery services that you can try. UberEATS, Mr D, and the brand-new DigiEats (which we tried out with Shibui Sushi recently) offer you a world of options.
